it's been happening for ages, American Paslode gas nail guns being brought in and sold as the Australian version. How do you tell the difference? and at the end of the day, so what? I saved a few bucks right?
The Australian Paslodes are branded "Impulse on the side, whereas the American counterparts are branded "Cordless".
Sure you still get a carry case, batteries and a charger, but......... The charger is no good here, it is the wrong voltage.
There is no factory warranty on the American tools, regardless of what that sales guy or on-line store has told you. So if something does go wrong, as things do, you now have a tool that you have to pay for to get repaired.
The tools themselves are different internally, so there are many parts that are not interchangeable with our local versions. So now you are up for even more money to get the right parts from overseas.
We have had customers bring in "brand new" tools, just purchased on-line, not working properly. They had aftermarket chargers and aftermarket batteries in the kit that was just bought. What a ripoff!!
We're not here to tell you what to do, just to try and help you save money in the long run, and help you tell if you are actually getting what you paid for...
